Woohoo! It's a girls weekend! My first one since Little Lady was born. I got up early, picked up Ashley, and we headed out of town. After a 5 hour drive we made it to boleslawisc. We have enjoyed pottery shopping and seeing how the pottery is made. So far it has been a great trip.
The hotel we are in has a crazy history. The blue beetroot apparently was a farm built in 1779. The farmer grew beets and made moonshine. During a harsh winter he made too much moonshine and once the spring came he loaded up a wagon with the barrels and beets and headed into town. On the way the wagon and horses slid into a pond. The farmer died and apparently the beets soaked up the moonshine and turned blue. Now rumor has it the farmers ghost hangs around and leaves blue beets floating on the pond.
