walking in a winter wonderland???

Well it may be winter according to the calendar but so far it feels much more like spring around here. There seems to be this roller coaster of weather stuck here in VA that keeps cycling through 30, 40,50, 60, 50, 40, 30 over and over again. I will take it! I am loving these warmer days every week. It gives us a chance to enjoy the day and I get to continue working on the yard clean up that needs to happen around here. It also helps Lucy. She has plenty of energy. So this week we went on a few walks. Today I even took Lucy and LL to the playground. Lucy climbed on all the equipment and even went down the slide. I am trying to expose her to everything so she is not afraid and so far her only fear is hula hoops. Who knew.

Wet and Wild

January has been a bit of a long month. Little Lady started swim and gymnastics lessons. She loves them and is doing really well. In fact she just completed her first session of swim lessons and went from a paddler to a level 2 swimmer! I am very proud of her and I hope she continues to love swimming like her Mommy does. Lucy is going to puppy kindergarten and she is doing well too. She already knows plenty of commands; Sit, stay, down, off, come, paw, leave it, and wait. The problem with her is her attitude. She may know the commands but she just plain chooses to not do it. Her teacher laughed in class tonight because she just plain refused to come when called. Oh well. We keep working on it. S has been busy but not here. He has been on a business trip all month. He returned home after 3 weeks away and we decided to escape for a little getaway. We found an amazing pet sitter to stay and watch Lucy, Downy, and Dusty and we went to Great Wolf Lodge. We had never been before this weekend. It was fun. I don't know how anyone stays longer than a few days though. Little Lady could have but S and I were more than ready to leave on Tuesday morning. We spent 2 nights there. There was plenty for us to do our only real complaint was that the air actually hurt our eyes and made it hard to breathe after a while. I don't know if they have poor ventilation there, if it was just the one we went to, or what was going on but the Chlorine in the air was hard to handle. S and LL were coughing. At one point LL was sobbing because her eyes were burning so bad. I would say it was from swimming underwater but mine hurt too and were watering and I tried very hard to not put my head under the water at all. Either way we did have a lot of fun and it was a great way to celebrate S being back and LL passing her first swim levels.
