Little Lady went to preschool for the first time in September. We read stories about it in advance. We talked about it and what to expect. We visited the school. We met the teacher. We were all set. Then the tears flowed. On her. I was fine...ok I was a mess too. I was ok with the whole thing, until she started sobbing and telling me how she "didn't want to be a big girl. Not today" Then my heart broke and I cried too. It was a good thing S was with me to be the strong one. I received a text from the teacher an hour after we left that she had finally calmed down and was doing well. I went to pick her up early as I was advised and she was doing so well they asked me to come back at regular pick up time. I left. I was only gone for another 30 minutes before I got a call to come and get her. She was doing fine but then all of the sudden she lost it and they could not get her to stop crying or calm down. Good thing we live 5 minutes away. Either way Little Lady is officially a preschooler and I think she will love it in time...

| So not thrilled to be going |

A few months later and she loves it. She is finally waking up and asking if it is a preschool day and not crying when I say yes. She doesn't need to take a comfort friend with her and according to her teacher she is actually starting to play with other kids and not just the teachers. She listens and likes doing the activities. Music and gymnastics are her favorites, though she loves when they get to use glue or cut things. Glitter, or sparkles as she calls them, seem to be on every project and I have a new found respect for those parents that cringed every time I did a project with their kids in my class that involved glitter. The glitter never stays on the paper and of course hanging it on the fridge just leads to glitter being all over my kitchen. I am learning to despise the glitter projects just like those parents did but she sure loves them. All in all we made the right choice and it appears we picked the right school for her. She is happy there and that is what matters.
