Virginia bound

Last day in New York and our first evening in VA. We spent the morning wandering New York. We had lunch at Shake Shack and we can say it is really good. Crowded, long lines (we timed it right and only waited a few minutes), but worth it if you are in the area. We then headed to Barnes and Noble. It was awesome buying actual books. I love my kindle but there is something about an actual book. No longer fearful of being overweight we splurged and bought a few for our entertainment during the rest of our home leave. Now we sit at JFK (did you guess that right from the pictures?) waiting for our JetBlue flight to DC. The fun part of this parents vacation away is coming to an end and now we are onto getting our house ready. I hope the contractors are ready for me!
Yum. Apple strudel shake.
Long lines and lots of waiting

My phone got stuck as usual. This time on the camera and it just kept taking pictures. 50 of them before it stopped. This was one of them.
Here we sit
Airplane, where are you? We are waiting.

Doing the tourist thing

Today we decided to do the whole tourist thing and see the Statue of Liberty. We rode a ferry around and enjoyed the view from afar. We then wandered the city for a bit. We returned to our hotel to rest and then went out for a late night dinner at a place that some friends recommended Bonchon chicken. I even found some cute taxi cab pajamas as my souvenir.

Waiting for the boat

 A beautiful lady.
They blasted "they're coming to America" by Niel Diamond while we coasted by.

I have to say I still really love this haircut. The curls are super easy and held up great to the wind and rain.

This little pup (3months old) was clearly thrilled to be on the boat with us.

Loving our vacation and getting to spent quality time with this handsome man. Almost 9years and I still love him!

Getting cultured

Today we slept in. Woohoo! We left the hotel at 11, had some street food for breakfast/lunch, then we hit the American museum of natural history ( The Night at The Museum movie museum). We downloaded their app which was awesome. It allowed us to buy tickets, skipping the really long lines. Then we were able to use the app to understand the exhibits, find bathrooms, play trivia. It was a lot of fun. Unfortunately we had to cut our visit short so we could get ready for the play. We decided to see Wicked while we were here in New York. It was great. Everything we had heard was true. It was a great day.

This guy is my favorite. I love the titanosaur!

New York City

S and I are off on a kid free adventure! This part of the trip we are spending in New York City. We arrived today and had a long day exploring. Our hotel is just two blocks from time square. Half a block from 5th avenue and about 10 blocks from Central Park. We spent some time in Central Park and at the Central Park zoo today. We then returned to the hotel for a nap. Waking up at 2:30am for the airport was starting to kick our butt. We then went out for a great Italian dinner and wandered Times Square. All I can say is wow it was loud. My ears were rather over whelmed. Can't wait to see what we do tomorrow.

It's the aunt Vickie Pigeon!
