It's A.....Puppy!

We got a puppy!!! We promised Little Lady that we would get a dog when we were in America. Little did we know she thought that meant the moment we landed. We compromised and she got one the week after the movers left. All I can say is... what were we thinking? Boxes everywhere and a puppy! Things get a bit crazy at our house sometimes. So you probably want to know more about the puppy huh? Well we decided to name her Lucy Woodstock. She is named after our favorite Peanuts characters. She was found with her litter mates abandoned in the woods in North Carolina. They were rescued and brought up to Northern Virginia to find families. Without any knowledge of the parents the puppies breed is anyone's guess. Though they all have distinctive Catahoula Leopard Dog markings. So Lucy is a Catahoula Leopard Dog Mix. Yep we had to look that up. Basically if pure bred would be between 70-90lbs. Hog herding dog, native to Louisiana with fully webbed toes. She is a bit of a hound dog. Always following her nose. Loves to dig, bark, talk, and chew! She is now 13 weeks. We got her when she was 8. She has had a hard time with tummy troubles at first and now an on going bladder infection. She has been on antibiotics 4 out of the 5 weeks we have had her. Poor puppy but we will get her better and I am sure housebreaking will go a lot better once she doesn't need to pee every second. Now if only getting her to stay out of the laundry on sock hunts would seem as promising.

Her ears have taken on this folded in half look and are almost always this way and usually crossed over her head.

I am trying to get a picture of all the different Ear Poses she does. Her ears are always a major talking point when anyone meets her.

Matching coats/ Lucy is not a fan of being cold at all.

Cuddled up after a fun day shopping for new toys and puppy gear

She is a sweet snuggler.

Very worn out after her first day at puppy school

Trying out sweaters. She prefers the coat but on not as cold days this works.

I love my puppy!

The second day we had her. She was not impressed with going for a walk. Collars and Leashes...UGGGHHHH

First Morning with the new puppy

Meeting Downy. Downy is not a fan and still not a fan.

Meeting Dusty. He is more friendly and will even play with her from time to time.

first family photo. It will be a while before we won't have to photoshop the cats in a picture.
